Steam Hauled Brake Van Rides
Come and join us for the last brake van rides of the year, which will be hauled by guest steam loco Uskmouth 1 - courtesy of our colleagues at the Dean Forest Railway. Enjoy a unique opportunity to see out the old year from the enhanced viewing position of our Queen Mary brake van.
Rides will take place every 40 minutes from 10 am until 3pm- the return trip takes approximately 20 minutes. Each trip starts and finishes in the station at Midsomer Norton. There are 3 ticket options - £10.00 for adults; £5.00 for children aged 4-16. Children aged 3 or under travel free. Tickets can be purchased online through this website or from the station shop on the day.
Please note that the brake van consists of 2 covered “verandas” (one at either end of the vehicle) both of which can accommodate up to 8 people – ie 16 in total per trip so your booking must not exceed this number. Please also note that due to its size and restricted access there is no wheelchair access to the brake van. In the event of cold and/or wet weather bring suitable clothing as the brake van provides limited shelter from the elements!
Dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not permitted to travel in the brake van for safety reasons.
Contact us by emailing: sales@sdjr.co.uk for more information on this or other services at the railway.
