Rail 200 Gala
We are joining many other Heritage Railways celebrating the 200th Anniversay of the modern railway with a Gala on Sunday 28th September.
All the home fleet will be in action giving you a chance to ride in a variety of trains. We will have the Class 107 DMU running, alternating with the Mark 1 coaches top and tailed by D1120 and the 08 shunter D4095.
Trains will run every 30 minutes from the Down Platform, returning to the Up Platform. In between services there will be train movements in the station as the train on the Up Platform is moved to the Down, ready for the next service.
The museum will be open, along with the WW2 Pill Box and Anderson Shelter. Refreshmens will be available from the Buffet, and the shop and The Emporium (our second hand book shop & model railway store) will be open.
Gala Tickets allow you to travel on all the different trains throughout the day (subject to space).
