Queen Mary Brake Van Rides
Explore our railway from the verandah of our restored “Queen Mary” brake van which will be hauled by a diesel shunter. The trip will be over the full length of the line towards Chilcompton.
Rides will take place every 30 minutes from 10:30 am - the return trip takes approximately 20 minutes. There will be a lunch break after the 12.30 service with rides resuming at 2.00pm. Each trip starts and finishes in the station at Midsomer Norton. Advanced Day Rover ticket are avaialble at £10.00 for adults; £5.00 for children aged 4-16. (On the day prices £12 adults, £6 children). Children aged 3 or under travel free. Tickets allow you to travel as many times as you like( subject to space) can be purchased online through this website or from the station shop on the day.
Please note that the brake van consists of 2 covered “verandas” (one at either end of the vehicle) both of which can accommodate up to 8 people – ie 16 in total per trip. Please also note that due to its size and restricted access there is no wheelchair access to the brake van.
